Background

Extreme weather conditions

Municipalities need reliable rainfall information for sewerage, urban water management, and the management and evaluation of water nuisance. In practice, collecting, managing, processing and visualising rainfall data takes a great deal of time. Moreover, rainfall information is often spread across various sources. The Rainfall Package makes this information accessible via dashboards tailored to the municipality’s area and drainage areas.

Method

Practical tools and dashboards

HydroLogic combines various rainfall sources and translates them into practical dashboards, tools and data connections for municipalities. For historical and current rainfall, area-wide radar rainfall is used, supplemented with measurements from weather stations. Weather models are used for expected rainfall. Municipalities get access to dashboards with, among other things, rainfall event analysis, observed rainfall, expected rainfall, weather stations and download options.

In addition, the rainfall information can be linked directly to other municipal systems via our API. Think of management systems, sewer models, reporting systems, asset management systems or the municipality’s own data environments. In this way, the same reliable rainfall information can not only be viewed in dashboards, but also be used automatically in existing work processes and applications.

The result

Tailor-made weather information

Municipalities have a single accessible environment and a reliable data connection for rainfall information in their area. Users can follow current rainfall, evaluate historical rainfall events, include expected rainfall in their planning and download data or make it available automatically via the API. As a result, rainfall information becomes immediately usable in dashboards, analyses, reports, models and existing municipal systems.
